What to expect

Our worship service is an afternoon service, which starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends by 5:20 p.m.  Folks begin to arrive around 3:45 p.m. Our dress is casual. Upon arriving, you'll receive an Order of Service bulletin that will guide you through the service. Our service follows a liturgy which is centered on a reading from the Bible, which is followed by a sermon and the celebration of Communion, i.e., the Lord's Supper.  Our worship service also includes songs/singing (led by a worship leader), corporate as well as private prayers, and opportunities for silent reflection and meditation. While we offer Nursery and Children's Church for children (ages 0-9), please know that children are always welcome in the worship service and the sanctuary.

Nursery

We offer a nursery throughout the service, from 3:45-6:00 p.m. It is located directly below the sanctuary. Parents register their children (ages 0-2.5 yrs old), confirm contact info, and are invited to return to the sanctuary. If you have any special instructions for your child during the service, our nursery workers will do our best to follow them.

Children's Church

It is our desire, as a community, to provide our children with a worship service that is age appropriate. After the Doxology is sung by congregation, we invite our children, ages 3-9 yrs old, to attend one of three specific classes designed to teach them about worship and to practice worship in age appropriate settings. These classes will follow the same form of curriculum, which focuses on the promises of God, but will address different levels of maturity:

  • 2.5--4 yrs old (downstairs)
  • 5--6 yrs old (downstairs)
  • 7--9 yrs old (Fellowship Hall)

Teachers will be in front of the sanctuary to pick up those children who have signed in.

While we hope and expect Children's Church to be a vehicle through which our children mature in their understanding of God's love for them through Jesus, it is simply an option. That is, children of all ages are welcome upstairs throughout the entire worship service.
